Retention Systems Analysis
In our constantly growing cities, there is increasing demand for high-rise apartment dwellings, with deeper basements. As these are often constructed in close proximity to existing developments there is increasing need and benefit for numerical analysis to develop safe and economical retention designs. Our dedicated analysis team can provide this analysis service to the structural designers working on such projects.
This type of analysis is also of benefit, and in some cases required, for certain slope stabilisation situations where different support measures are being designed, such as soil nailing, rock anchors, reinforced shotcrete mesh systems, and others.
Our dedicated team of experienced analysts can work with the project’s structural engineers to complete analysis of shoring systems using software such as ‘Wallap’ or ‘Slope/W’ as well as 2D Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using ‘Plaxis 2D’ and 3D FEA using ‘Plaxis 3D’. These analyses help evaluate the soil/structure interaction, using advanced soil behaviour models. These analyses can also be used by themselves or combined with 3D groundwater seepage analysis software ‘Seep 3D’ to address requirements of Water NSW and NRAR (NSW Natural Resources Access Regulator) with regard to Aquifer Interference Activities, to assess the potential for tanked or drained basements.
